Working with Churches,NGOs and individuals to provide high quality drinking water to the billions of people that lack safe drinking water in the world. Each water enterprise is targeted at saving over 100 lives, with about half of the deaths being children under five years old.
Cost To Save A Life
USING WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION’S ESTIMATES 1.1 billion people lack safe drinking water, of them over
4 million people die each year. That means that
1 in 275 people that lack safe water die each year
and over a ten year period (estimated equipment life) that
1 in 27.5 people that drink un-safe water will die.
With a water enterprise serving 5,000 people, it means one water enterprise would save 185 lives over the 10 years of the median life of the equipment. With the cost of the equipment at $10,000.00 one can assume that it would cost about $55.00 to save a life.
It could also be estimated that it will cost less then $2.00 to donate the water equipment to provide safe drinking water for one person.
